A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Anna Daniel; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, 4-H Clubs of Georgia provide a unique educational opportunity for students from nine to 19 years of age to learn valuable lessons outside the classroom and offer some 55 project areas in which students can develop expertise and compete with one another; and

WHEREAS, Georgia´s 4-H programs are coordinated by the Cooperative Extension Service of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and this service is the major university outreach program focusing on the youth of this state; and

WHEREAS, Anna Daniel of Butts County is an outstanding member of 4-H and is the recipient of the prestigious College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Dean´s Project Award in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and she has also served with distinction as a delegate to the 2003 national 4-H conference; and

WHEREAS, Anna Daniel is an outstanding representative of the dynamic resource this state has in its young people.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Anna Daniel as the recipient of the prestigious College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Dean´s Project Award in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and for this outstanding 4-H member´s service as a delegate to the national 4-H conference.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Anna Daniel.
