Senate Resolution
65 By: Senators Crotts of the 17th, Starr of the 44th
and Thomas of the 10th
A RESOLUTION
Commending Stephen J. Bain; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Stephen J. Bain has served with honor and
distinction as a professional educator at Eagle´s Landing High School in
Henry County, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, he believes
that his role as a teacher is to act as an instrument of inspiration to his
pupils and to create a positive learning environment while enhancing his
students´ abilities to analyze and reason;
and
WHEREAS, his grandparents and parents were
teachers, along with his aunts and some of his cousins, leading this body to
conclude that excellence in teaching is a hereditary talent;
and
WHEREAS, he is a shining example of the
important impact that the efforts of individual classroom teachers are making on
the quality of education received by the children of this state;
and
WHEREAS, he encourages students to believe in
themselves, to pursue every opportunity for personal growth, to make a
commitment to excellence in every aspect of their lives, and to develop a love
of learning which will be beneficial to them throughout their lives;
and
WHEREAS, he has demonstrated an unfaltering
enthusiasm for his subject and a natural ability to relate to young people and
motivate them to accomplish their goals;
and
WHEREAS, in recognition of his outstanding
dedication to academic excellence, he was selected as the 2003 Eagle´s
Landing High School STAR Teacher and Henry County STAR
Teacher.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
SENATE that the members of this body heartily and gratefully commend Stephen J.
Bain for his foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of the young
people of this state and congratulate him upon his selection as the 2003
Eagle´s Landing High School STAR Teacher and Henry County STAR
Teacher.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary
of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this
resolution to Stephen J. Bain.
