A RESOLUTION

Commending Graham Jackson, Jr.; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Graham Jackson, Jr., started taking piano lessons at the age of three and started performing with his father in concerts while enrolled at St. Paul of the Cross Elementary School; and

WHEREAS, he learned to play many instruments by the time he graduated from St. Joseph High School and was a member of the marching band; and

WHEREAS, he attended Morris Brown College where he learned to compose and orchestrate music and was immediately placed as lead keyboardist in the college jazz band and was selected along with his brother to perform in the Morris Brown College Jazz Quintet; and

WHEREAS, he received an A.S. degree in Commercial Music and Recording from Georgia State University and while working in various computer fields, he kept his band performing, toured as a mobile DJ, owned a sound system company, and orchestrated and conducted recording sessions; and

WHEREAS, he has delighted countless listeners by playing the piano at the Grand Hyatt of Atlanta, Pittypat's Porch Restaurant, and the Swissotel; and

WHEREAS, he has received numerous awards and recognitions including honorable mention on the OutKast ATLiens album; honorable mention on the MC Toy "Take It To The Ground" single; Death Row Records multi-platinum album award recipient for Snoop Doggy Dog, Dr. Dre, "Murder Was The Case," and Above the Rim; Sony Music/Mariah Carey, #1 in Billboard Magazine award; Kirk Franklin platinum album; DRS gold album recipient; and Janet Jackson platinum album recipient.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that Graham Jackson, Jr., is commended for his lifetime of excellence in music.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Graham Jackson, Jr.
