BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Chapter 18 of Title 15 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to prosecuting attorneys, so as to provide that power to discipline, remove, and
cause involuntary retirement of district attorneys and solicitors-general shall
be vested in the Judicial Qualifications Commission in the same manner as
provided for judges; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws;
and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Chapter
18 of Title 15 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to
prosecuting attorneys, is amended by inserting a new Article 5 to read as
follows:
"ARTICLE
5
15-18-100.
The
power to discipline, remove, and cause involuntary retirement of district
attorneys and solicitors-general shall be vested in the Judicial Qualifications
Commission in the same manner as provided for
judges."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
