BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Article 2 of Chapter 5 of Title 40 of the Official Code of Georgia
Annotated, relating to issuance, expiration, and renewal of
driverś
licenses, so as to provide for requirements relating to priority of service at
driveŕs
license centers; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and
for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Article
2 of Chapter 5 of Title 40 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to issuance, expiration, and renewal of
driverś
licenses, is amended by adding, immediately following Code Section 40-5-28.1, a
new Code Section 40-5-28.2 to read as follows:
"40-5-28.2.
Each
person standing in line and holding a service number at each location where
driveŕs
license examinations are given or where
driveŕs
license renewals are issued who is not called for service prior to the closing
of the location for the business day shall be given a first call for service
during the first hour of the next business
day."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
