A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend an Act to create a Board of Commissioners of Roads and Revenues for the County of Lincoln, approved February 25, 1949 (Ga. L. 1949, p. 1228), so as to provide for the determination of a fiscal year by the board of commissioners; to provide for an audit in accordance with law; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
An Act to create a Board of Commissioners of Roads and Revenues for the County of Lincoln, approved February 25, 1949 (Ga. L. 1949, p. 1228), is amended by striking Section 16 of the Act and inserting in lieu thereof a new Section 16 to read as follows:
"SECTION 16. Be it further enacted that the Board of Commissioners shall establish a fiscal year in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 36-81 of the O.C.G.A. In addition, the Board of Commissioners shall cause an audit to be made of the financial affairs and transactions of all funds and activities of the county for each fiscal year in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 36-81 of the O.C.G.A. Upon the completion of each audit, the full report thereof, including such statements or schedules of assets and liabilities and of revenues and expenses as may be necessary for a clear understanding of the affairs of the county, shall be furnished to the next succeeding term of the grand jury of the county and an intelligent statement of each, showing the financial condition of the county, its receipts, and its disbursements, shall be published by the Board of Commissioners in the legal organ of the county that the citizens and taxpayers may fully understand the financial condition of the county. The Board of Commissioners shall publish a monthly itemized statement of their receipts and disbursements, the same to be published by placing said statement on the bulletin board at the courthouse in said county."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
