RESOLUTION
Commending
Mary Baugh; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mary Baugh was born in Troup County, Georgia, February 28, 1906, as the sixth
and sole surviving child of 14 children born to William and Mary Downer;
and
WHEREAS,
Mary Baugh attended the Burks Chapel Community School; and
WHEREAS,
she married Walter (Buck) Baugh in 1930 and they shared their life until his
death in July 1967; and
WHEREAS,
they had one son, Jackie Baugh; and
WHEREAS,
Mary Baugh has been a dedicated mother and wife; and
WHEREAS,
Mary joined the Burks Chapel United Methodist Church at any early age and in her
90 plus years of membership has served her church and others with selfless
devotion, as exemplified by her service as Chairwoman of the United Methodist
Women, as Sunday school teacher, as ward leader, and by her extensive work with
youth activities.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body
commends Mrs. Mary Baugh of The Twin Fountains Nursing Home in LaGrange,
Georgia, for her dedication and service to her family and her
community.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Mary
Baugh.
