A
RESOLUTION
Commending
the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and inviting them to appear before the
House of Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta is celebrating its 100 year anniversary
as a nonsectarian, not-for-profit, nondiscriminatory community-based health and
social service provider; and
WHEREAS,
as an umbrella organization to 12 separate affiliate organizations, the Jewish
Federation of Greater Atlanta is excelling at meeting the needs of the community
by providing a wide array of services for every phase of life; and
WHEREAS,
with the aid of its dedicated staff, volunteers, and community contributors, the
Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta carries out its life changing work such as
raising more than $420,000.00 this year in pledges for relief efforts,
$100,000.00 of which was donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank;
and
WHEREAS,
the Jewish Federation of Greater
Atlantás
strong commitment to serving children, helping people with disabilities to live
independent and productive lives, and providing older adults with needed homes
and services is a driving force for community values in the greater Atlanta area
and for the State of Georgia
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body
commends the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta for its 100 years of
outstanding contributions on behalf of the citizens of greater Atlanta and the
State of Georgia and invites them to appear before the House of Representatives
at a date and time to be designated by the Speaker of the House of
Representatives.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Chief
Executive Officer of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, Steven A. Rakitt.
