RESOLUTION
Commending
Mr. Rodney Musselman; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
for several years, Mr. Rodney Musselman has been one of the most vocal and
influential promoters of tourism in the Savannah area and the State of Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Musselman is the Area Manager for Maryland Hospitality Incorporated Hotels,
where he oversees properties in Savannah and on Tybee Island, including the
award winning Hilton Savannah DeSoto Hotel; and
WHEREAS,
among his many leadership activities within the Savannah hospitality community,
Mr. Musselman is a founding member and former president of the Tourism
Leadership Council, former chairman of the Savannah Taxi Board, board member of
the Savannah Waterfront Association, past chairman and treasurer of the Savannah
Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, trustee of the Coastal Heritage Society,
and member of the Tourism Advisory Committee of Savannah; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Musselman continually strives to promote tourism not just in Savannah but
throughout the entire state and was instrumental in founding the Tourism
Development Alliance of Georgia, serving as chairman in 2005; and
WHEREAS,
considering how valuable tourism can be to local and state economies, it is
abundantly fitting and proper that this body appropriately recognize Mr.
Musselman's many contributions to Savannah and to Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in commending Mr. Rodney Musselman for his outstanding leadership
and advocacy for his industry and thank him for his work to promote tourism in
Georgia.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Rodney
Musselman.
