RESOLUTION
Celebrating
the life of H. Coleman Morris and offering sincere condolences to his family and
friends upon his passing; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
H. Coleman Morris, a resident of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away on November
23, 2005; and
WHEREAS,
a distinguished veteran of World War II who received a Purple Heart during his
brave and courageous service to our country, he also received 17 other medals
and a special commendation for repairing rifles in the dark, before daybreak;
and
WHEREAS,
he was a devout member of the New Bridge Baptist Church where he took care of
the church lights, heat, air conditioning, and even water for the pastors for
the past 41 years; and
WHEREAS,
Coleman was the loving husband of his lifelong sweetheart, Grace Morris, and
they were married for 58 years and raised three children; and
WHEREAS,
he will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family, including his son
Ronnie and his wife, Angela; his daughter Pam and her husband, Truett; and his
son Danny and his wife, Lynn.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body celebrate the life and accomplishments of H. Coleman Morris and offer
their sincere condolences to his family and friends upon his
passing.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
H. Coleman Morris.
