RESOLUTION
Remembering
and honoring the life of Joe Buffington, Jr.; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Joe Buffington, Jr., a lifelong resident of Hall County, was born to loving
parents Joe and Ruth Jeanette Buffington; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Buffington served his country with honor in the United States Army and began
his productive and lifelong career as a sign builder with Thomas Advertising
Service in the 1940s; and
WHEREAS,
he went on to become owner of the company in the 1970s and was a much admired
businessman who successfully led the company until his retirement in 2002;
and
WHEREAS,
he was a faithful husband to the late Mrs. Shirley Ann Reed Buffington, a
devoted father, a beloved grandfather, and a member of Lebanon United Methodist
Church who loved Lebanon Methodist Campground; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Buffington leaves behind a wealth of loving friends and family who will
remember his friendly, sincere smile, his kindheartedness, and his great
strength of character; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia lost a most estimable citizen on January 13, 2005, with the
passing of Mr. Joe Buffington, Jr.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join together to express their deepest regret at the passing of Mr.
Joe Buffington, Jr. and extend their most sincere condolences to his
family.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Mr. Joe Buffington, Jr.
