RESOLUTION
Recognizing
the Lakeview Academy Baseball Team, winners of the 2004 Class A State
Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
on Friday, June 4, 2004, in front of a huge crowd of fans and with the support
of Coach Deuce Roark, the Lakeview Academy baseball team stepped onto their
"Field of Dreams" and walked off with the 2004 Class A State Championship;
and
WHEREAS,
with their new, magnificent field and a season record to match it, the members
of the Lions baseball team have truly set an outstanding example for all those
students who will participate in Lakeview Academy's impressive baseball program
and athletics department in the years to come; and
WHEREAS,
their victory is Lakeview Academy's first state title in a team sport in school
history; and
WHEREAS,
these victories were the culmination of a season of hard work, exemplary
sportsmanship, and exceptional teamwork among this close-knit group of
outstanding young men; and
WHEREAS,
this remarkable team consists of many fine individuals, including Trey Wood,
Dustin Wellborn, Tony Cash, Clay Haynes, Ross McIntire, Will Crumley, Johnny
Laws, J. B. Little, Billy Saye, Jay Bostwick, Tyler Addison, Tripp Norton, Don
Crumley, Robert Clark, Kenny Hannahs, Robert Murillo, Stuart Willey, and Matt
Williams; and
WHEREAS,
the Lakeview community and the State of Georgia take great pride in the
accomplishments of these fine young champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in recognizing and commending the 2004 Class A State Champion
Lakeview Academy Baseball Team and Coach Deuce Roark for their outstanding
performance.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Coach Deuce
Roark.
