RESOLUTION
Remembering
and honoring the life of Carl Bernhard Romberg II; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Carl Bernhard Romberg II was born on August 1, 1938, in Gainesville, Georgia, to
loving parents Conrad J. and Elizabeth Ashford Romberg; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Romberg was a graduate of Gainesville High School and Georgia Tech who went
on to serve as president of City Ice Company for three decades before founding
Atlantic Dry Ice; and
WHEREAS,
he was not only a highly respected and successful businessman but also a
community leader who served in many positions as a public servant and was a
founding member and past president of the Northeast Georgia History Center at
Brenau University, founding director and past president of the Jaycees
Vocational Rehabilitation Center, and past president and life member of the
Gainesville Jaycees; and
WHEREAS,
he consistently displayed the dedication to his community that has characterized
his life as an active, lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church;
and
WHEREAS,
he was devoted to the Boy Scouts of America and was an Eagle Scout and a Sea
Scout, served as a Scoutmaster, roundtable commissioner, district chairman, and
president of the Northeast Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Romberg leaves behind his devoted family, including his loving wife, Mrs.
Betty Romberg, as a testament to his caring nature, so often displayed through
his contributions to his community; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia lost a most estimable citizen and public servant with the
passing of Mr. Carl Bernhard Romberg II.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join together to express their deepest regret at the passing of Mr.
Carl Bernhard Romberg II and extend their most sincere condolences to his
family.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Mr. Carl Bernhard Romberg II.
