A
RESOLUTION
Remembering
and honoring the life of Tally Cleotis "Quoty" Goldsmith; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
born August 31, 1943, Mr. Tally Cleotis Goldsmith was a member of the Hartwell
First Baptist Church and attended New Beginning's Interdenominational Church;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Goldsmith served his community honorably as a member of the Hart County Fire
and Rescue Department and as a former rescue diver and had a distinguished
career with Springs Industries from which he retired after 42 years in shipping
and receiving; and
WHEREAS,
he was a highly respected member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge 690 who taught
swimming lessons in Hart County for more than half a century; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Goldsmith leaves behind his devoted family, including his loving wife,
Martha Ann Cheek Goldsmith, as a testament to his caring nature, so often
displayed through his contributions to his community; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia lost a most estimable citizen on October 8, 2004, with the
passing of Mr. Tally Cleotis Goldsmith.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join together to express their deepest regret at the passing of Mr.
Tally Cleotis Goldsmith and extend their most sincere condolences to his
family.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Martha
Ann Cheek Goldsmith.
