A RESOLUTION

Commending Mr. M. Bryan Freeman; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, throughout his career, Mr. M. Bryan Freeman has been a leader in the life insurance industry and has spent nearly 17 years as a trailblazer in the emerging life settlement field; and

WHEREAS, he opened his first insurance firm over 25 years ago and conducted his first life settlement in 1989 at the request of a friend grappling with a terminal illness, making him one of the first in the world to perform such a transaction; and

WHEREAS, soon after that first settlement, Mr. Freeman came to devote most of his business to brokering life settlements, becoming a pioneer in the industry; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Freeman is the founder and president of Habersham Funding, LLC, an Atlanta based life settlement provider company that does business nationally; and

WHEREAS, he has come to be regarded as an international expert on life settlements and has spoken to many audiences on the topic; he has also chaired a number of industry conferences on this industry and is often sought out to serve as an expert witness on life settlements; and

WHEREAS, for many years, Mr. Freeman has been very involved with the Life Insurance Settlement Association, where he is serving an unprecedented fourth term as president of the board, and has consistently served as an enthusiastic and effective advocate for a responsible and thriving life settlement industry; and

WHEREAS, throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Freeman has been widely admired and respected for his integrity, leadership, and vision, and he has helped countless individuals meet their estate planning and financial needs thanks to his industrious nature and innovative spirit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join in commending Mr. M. Bryan Freeman on his exceptional career as a pioneer of the life settlement industry and thank him for his many contributions to Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. M. Bryan Freeman.
