RESOLUTION
Commending
Lee F. Swaney; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Lee F. Swaney has been a resident of the City of Clarkston since 1971;
and
WHEREAS,
Lee F. Swaney was elected to serve as the Mayor of the City of Clarkston in 2002
and was reelected for a second term in 2006; and
WHEREAS,
he currently provides exemplary leadership and devoted service to the City of
Clarkston as its Mayor; and
WHEREAS,
Mayor Swaney has demonstrated his dedication to his community through his
service on many local committees and boards, including service as a member of
the City of Clarkston Planning and Zoning Commission, and serving for ten years
as a member of the City Council; and
WHEREAS,
his commitment to the community is further demonstrated by his leadership in
initiating and successfully completing numerous public works projects, including
housing projects, city beautification projects and community improvement
projects; and
WHEREAS,
Lee F. Swaney is a distinguished Georgian and an outstanding citizen of the City
of Clarkston, where he has dedicated his tremendous knowledge and experience to
assisting others and has significantly improved the quality of life for his
fellow citizens; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Swaney is a devoted husband to his wife of 35 years, Joan Swaney, and a
loving father and grandfather to their two children and two grandchildren;
and
WHEREAS,
Mayor Swaney emulates the characteristics of a true leader and has been a
devoted community advocate, making the City of Clarkston a better place to
live.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize and commend Lee F. Swaney for his distinguished effort on
behalf of the citizens of the City of Clarkston and congratulate him on his
reelection to serve as Mayor and extend to him their sincere best wishes for
success in future endeavors.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mayor Lee F.
Swaney.
