RESOLUTION
Remembering
and honoring the life of Kathy Reeves Mathis; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Kathy Reeves Mathis was born on July 6, 1950, in Clarkesville, Georgia, to
loving parents Paul and Doris Reeves; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Mathis was an intelligent and educated lady who graduated summa cum laude
from the University of Georgia where she received her
masteŕs
degree; and
WHEREAS,
she worked tirelessly on behalf of the Gainesville community, serving as
President of the United Way, Treasurer of the Junior League of Gainesville,
President of the PTA, and a Girl Scout Leader, and contributed greatly to the
quality of life of its citizens; and
WHEREAS,
she was a faithful wife to Mr. Jim Mathis, the beloved daughter of Doris and
Paul Reeves, and a devoted mother to Kelly Mathis Lee and Katie Mathis;
and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Mathis leaves behind a wealth of loving friends and family who will
remember her many accomplishments, her generosity, and her great kindness and
empathy; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia lost a most estimable citizen on December 30, 2004, with
the passing of Mrs. Kathy Reeves Mathis.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join together to express their deepest regret at the passing of Mrs.
Kathy Reeves Mathis and extend their most sincere condolences to her
family.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Mrs. Kathy Reeves Mathis.
