RESOLUTION
Commending
Melissa Gunter on her selection as the STAR student for Apalachee High School;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most
important objective of the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS,
the incredible scholastic success of Melissa Gunter, a student at Apalachee High
School in Barrow County, is a shining example for all students in Georgia who
strive for excellence; and
WHEREAS,
her hard work and determination have earned her numerous accolades during the
course of her academic career, and she has now been honored by being named as
her high school's STAR student after scoring an impressive 2000 out of 2400 on
the SAT; and
WHEREAS,
Melissa Gunter personifies the selfless dedication, mental agility, verbal
adroitness, and maturity necessary for superlative academic performance;
and
WHEREAS,
in a world which all too often dwells on the negative actions of young people,
it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the extraordinary
accomplishments, intellectual acumen, and commitment to excellence of this
outstanding scholar.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily commend Melissa Gunter for her spectacular scholastic
achievements, including her selection as the STAR student for Apalachee High
School, and express to her their sincerest best wishes for continued academic
success in the future.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Melissa
Gunter.
