Resolution 194
By:
Representative Floyd of the
147th
A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
the Cordele-Crisp County Fish Fry and commending Mr. Ferrell Henry, Mr.
Don Tucker, Mr. Jimmy Black, and Mr. Phil Streetman and inviting the cooking
team to appear before the House of Representatives; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the ever hungry members of the General Assembly of Georgia have come to
anticipate the Cordele-Crisp County Fish Fry, which will be held on Tuesday,
February 22, 2005; and
WHEREAS,
a few urban legislators, their taste buds dulled by the bland fare that passes
for food within the confines of Interstate 285, might have forgotten the taste
of real food and long for the real flavor of fried catfish and hush puppies, and
the Cordele-Crisp County Fish Fry offers them much welcomed relief during their
annual sojourn to Atlanta; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Don Tucker of the Crisp County Power Commission; Mr. Ferrell Henry of the
Crisp County Board of Commissioners; Mr. Phil Streetman of the Cordele-Crisp
Chamber of Commerce; and Mr. Jimmy Black, Cordele City Commissioner, are
recognized as the spokespersons for the Cordele-Crisp County Fish Fry;
and
WHEREAS,
it is only fitting and proper to recognize and commend these dedicated civic
leaders for their outstanding efforts in hosting this delicious
event.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize the Cordele-Crisp County Fish Fry and commend Mr. Don
Tucker, Mr. Ferrell Henry, Mr. Jimmy Black, and Mr. Phil Streetman and invite
the cooking team to appear before the House of Representatives at a date and
time to be set by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to Mr. Don
Tucker, Mr. Ferrell Henry, Mr. Jimmy Black, and Mr. Phil Streetman and the
cooking team.
