RESOLUTION
Commending
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc., and its Ponce de Leon location in Atlanta; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
on July 13, 1937, Vernon Rudolph began selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts to local
grocery stores in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and soon thereafter began
selling hot doughnuts directly to the public; and
WHEREAS,
thanks to the enormous popularity of this tasty product, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
has grown from one location to 312 locations, employing more than 3,900
employees; and
WHEREAS,
customers all over the country enjoy more than 7.5 million of the company's
doughnuts every day; and
WHEREAS,
the Krispy Kreme location on Ponce de Leon Avenue, under the direction of Tim
Rayburn, has provided the delicious doughnuts enjoyed by members of the Georgia
General Assembly for many years.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in commending Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc., and its Ponce de Leon
location in Atlanta for their years of support and in extending their best
wishes for continued success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Krispy
Kreme Doughnuts Ponce de Leon location.
