RESOLUTION
Remembering
and honoring the life of W. Freddie Lee; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Lee began his newspaper career, which spanned 42 years, with the
Lavonia
Times at the age of 12, and this first
experience developed into a lifelong love of the newspaper business;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Lee was deeply committed to Lavonia, the city of his birth, delivering the
news to its citizens with great care and diligence for over 15 years as general
manager of the Lavonia
Times and
Franklin County
Citizen and serving 12 years on the
Lavonia City Council; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Lee also displayed his exceptional integrity and leadership in his service
with the United States Air Force and the Lavonia Volunteer Fire Department and
in the numerous civic organizations of which he was a part; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Lee, a devoted family man and community leader, will be remembered for his
loyalty, dedication, and the careful attention to detail which characterized his
work; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia has lost a most estimable citizen with the passing of Mr.
W. Freddie Lee.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join together to express their deepest regret at the passing of Mr. W.
Freddie Lee and extend their most sincere condolences to his
family.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Mr. W. Freddie Lee.
