A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Elizabeth Scarborough for her many years of outstanding public service; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Ms. Elizabeth Scarborough served for many years as an educator in the Crawford County School System, and she was a talented teacher who was fondly regarded at both the middle and high school where she taught and in her positions as curriculum director, assistant superintendent, and superintendent of Crawford County Schools, a post she held for over seven years; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Scarborough has always been a devoted and tenacious advocate for the Crawford County School System and the children of her community, urging Georgia legislators to pass the bill which supports Low Wealth Schools in dire need and working to preserve her local Boys and Girls Club of America; and

WHEREAS, in her role as Executive Director of the Crawford County Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Scarborough has been lauded for her extensive knowledge of and devotion to the programs and issues affecting her community and was named the Individual of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce for her staunch support; and

WHEREAS, an exemplary citizen and public servant, Ms. Scarborough gives selflessly of her time, energy, and expertise to numerous worthwhile organizations and events within her community and has truly helped to improve the quality of life for all of its residents; and

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia is honored to have such a fine lady as one of its citizens.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join in recognizing and commending Ms. Elizabeth Scarborough for her untiring dedication to her community and her many contributions to Crawford County and the State of Georgia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Elizabeth Scarborough.
