RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Jameson Inns, Inc.; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Jameson Inns, Inc. was founded in 1987 with a single hotel in the City of
Winder and has grown to more than 31 hotels and 1,596 guest rooms in the State
of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
the CEO and founder of Jameson Inns, Inc., Thomas W. Kitchin, is an active
member of the Marist School Board of Trustees, the Northside Hospital
Foundation, the Jekyll Island Foundation, and the Carter Center Board of
Councilors; and
WHEREAS,
this outstanding company was awarded the 2005 Marketing Award for Excellence for
the creation of the Jameson Stock Awards program; and
WHEREAS,
the implementation of Jameson Stock Awards has created owners out of guests, as
customers receive a portion of their room rate back in company stock;
and
WHEREAS,
through exemplary performance, Jameson Inns, Inc., has been named number one in
the economy segment of the Market Metrix Hospitality Index for three straight
years; and
WHEREAS,
Jameson Inns, Inc. was named a 2005 Georgia Family Business of the Year Finalist
as presented by the Cox Family Enterprise Center and
Georgia
Trend magazine; and
WHEREAS,
the Holiday Hospital Hospitality program provides complimentary and discount
accommodations for those with family members in area hospitals during the
holiday season; and
WHEREAS,
Jameson Inns, Inc. was widely noted for its willingness to help hurricane
evacuees in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita;
and
WHEREAS, this generous company has been a long-time sponsor of Camp Twin Lakes, a special needs camp located in Georgia, to help children with a wide range of medical conditions; and

WHEREAS,
Jameson Inns, Inc. participated in the Atlanta St. Patrick's Day Parade in a
show of active community involvement.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in recognizing and commending Jameson Inns, Inc., for its
outstanding leadership and contributions to the citizens of the State of
Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Jameson Inns,
Inc.
