RESOLUTION
Commending
Land Resource Companies; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Land Resources Companies was established in 1997 and is committed to creating
unique residential communities which preserve and showcase the natural beauty of
their settings; and
WHEREAS,
the organization's outstanding approach to development with an emphasis on
preservation has helped maintain the natural integrity and history of the land
and resulted in exceptional places for working, living, and recreation; and
WHEREAS,
while building the unique waterfront community at Cumberland Harbour, they
discovered the archeological treasure trove of Point Peter; and
WHEREAS,
this site near St. Marys, Georgia, has remained hidden for two centuries and is
the historically significant site of the last foreign invasion on United States
soil prior to September 11, 2001; and
WHEREAS,
as a direct result of their efforts, an irreplaceable national treasure has been
discovered; and
WHEREAS,
Land Resource Companies has sponsored an exhibit at the Cumberland Island
National Seashore Museum, aptly called the 'Forgotten Invasion,' to remind us
all of a perilous time in our young nation's and young state's
history.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize the outstanding accomplishments of Land Resource Companies
and commend them for their efforts in helping educate and remind us all of the
cost of freedom.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Land Resource
Companies.
