RESOLUTION
Commending
Louise Nahra; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Louise Nahra has long been recognized by the citizens of Coffee County for the
vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to
the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as
evidenced dramatically by her unprecedented record of 45 years of superlative
service as a fund raiser and charitable worker for St. Jude Children's Research
Hospital and the United Way and 30 years as Police Lady for the City of Douglas
Police Department where she served as a crossing guard at East Coffee Middle
School; and
WHEREAS,
her significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable patience
and diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the needs of the
citizens of her community have earned her the respect and admiration of her
colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS,
this distinguished senior gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her
high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow man, and she possesses the
vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character
which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and
WHEREAS,
with this loving woman has seen her progeny grow and flourish through four
generations with two daughters, her many delightful grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS,
she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and, by the examples she has
made of her life, she makes this world a better place in which to live;
and
WHEREAS, on February 5, 2005, she will enjoy the rare distinction of celebrating her ninety-first birthday, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Louise Nahra for her four and one-half decades of efficient,
effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service; congratulate her upon the
occasion of her birthday; and extend to her their most sincere best wishes for
continued health and happiness.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Louise
Nahra.
