RESOLUTION
Expressing
regret at the passing of Fred C. Douglas; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
on September 17, 2005, the State of Georgia lost one of its finest and most
distinguished citizens with the passing of Fred C. Douglas; and
WHEREAS,
he was an honest and dedicated man who strived for excellence in all his
endeavors; and
WHEREAS,
he was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross, where he attended Hosanna
Church of Christ; and
WHEREAS,
he was a classic gentleman and a person of magnanimous strengths with an
unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness;
and
WHEREAS,
he was a beloved husband to his wife, Mary Lee Hatfield Douglas of Waycross, and
a wonderful father to his two daughters, Sybil Moore and her husband Stacy and
Mary Lee and her husband Jesse, and his son, Fred Douglas III; and
WHEREAS,
he is also survived by his three sisters, Millie Winslet and her husband John,
Tercy King and her husband L.B., and Ava Nell Rosier and her husband Milton; his
brother Lean Douglas and his wife Tena; and numerous nieces and nephews;
and
WHEREAS,
the passing of this generous, kind, and devoted family man leaves an unfillable
void in the hearts and lives of his family and friends.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body express their deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of Fred
C. Douglas.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Fred C. Douglas.
