A
RESOLUTION
Commending
the Jefferson High School Wrestling Team, winners of the Georgia High School
Association Class A Team Duals Wrestling Championship; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Jefferson High School Dragons Wrestling team returned victorious from the
2004-2005 Georgia High School Association Class A Team Duals State Wrestling
Championship held at the Centreplex in Macon, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
this is the Dragons' fourth consecutive duals crown, and the Jefferson High
School Wrestling Team is the only program that has won the crown every year
since its inception in 2002 and is considered one of the greatest programs in
Georgia High School Association history; and
WHEREAS,
this formidable team did not surrender a single point in the first two rounds
and, with five pin victories, dominated the competition throughout the
tournament; and
WHEREAS,
Jefferson High School has won eight wrestling titles overall, dating back to the
school's first championship in 1983; and
WHEREAS,
this talented and well-coached team has displayed the qualities of hard work,
discipline, and a commitment to excellence throughout this season;
and
WHEREAS,
the Jefferson community and the State of Georgia take great pride in the
accomplishments of these fine young champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in commending the members of the Jefferson High School Dragons
Wrestling Team, winners of the Georgia High School Association Class A Team
Duals Wrestling Championship, and extend their best wishes for the team's
continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Jefferson High School Wrestling Team.
