A
RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the 2004 Gordon Lee High School Softball Team, winners of the Class A State
Championship, and inviting the team to appear before the House of
Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
with the support of its fans and the guidance of Head Coach Dana Reed and
Assistant Coach Greg Payne, the Gordon Lee High School Softball Team captured
the 2004 Class A State Softball Championship finishing the season with an
outstanding record of 25 wins and ten losses; and
WHEREAS,
these victories were the culmination of a season of hard work, exemplary
sportsmanship, and exceptional teamwork among this close-knit group of
outstanding young ladies, including Sam Floyd, Kelli Hudson, Sue Ellen Raulston,
Lauren Rice, Morgan Anderson, Krista Goodlet, Rachel Beason, Danielle Durham,
Britney Hollis, Abbie Kennedy, Mallary Lee, Maddie McKinley, Jenna Mitchell,
Allyson Quinn, Callie Gee, and Jordan O'Neal; and
WHEREAS,
Sam Floyd received Class A Pitcher of the Year honors and was named to the All
State Team along with teammates Morgan Anderson, Krista Goodlet, Abbie Kennedy,
Maddie McKinley, and Jenna Mitchell; and
WHEREAS,
the Chickamauga and Walker County community and the State of Georgia take great
pride in the accomplishments of these fine young champions and the leadership of
Coach Dana Reed, the 2004 Class A Coach of the Year.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in congratulating the 2004 Class A State Champion Gordon Lee High
School Softball Team on an outstanding season.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the team is invited to appear before the House of
Representatives for purposes of being recognized by the House and receiving an
appropriate copy of this resolution at a date and time to be fixed by the
Speaker of the House.
