RESOLUTION
Commending
the Clayton County Police
Department́s
Highway Enforcement Against Traffic unit and its captain Tom Israel and inviting
its members to appear before the House of Representatives; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Highway Enforcement Against Traffic unit, under the leadership of Clayton
County Police Department Captain Tom Israel, has been named the
natiońs
best multijurisdictional task force by the International Association of Chiefs
of Police; and
WHEREAS,
the task force is comprised of law enforcement professionals from Clayton,
Henry, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett counties and members of the Atlanta
and College Park police departments; and
WHEREAS,
the Clayton County Police Department is but another example of the positive
effect law enforcement officers have on the lives and well-being of others, as
they reach out to selflessly serve and protect Clayton County and its citizens;
and
WHEREAS,
the Clayton County Police Department is under the leadership of Police Chief
Darrell Partain and the department is widely regarded for its outstanding levels
of quality, service, and capacity and has, in 2003, been recognized with
numerous awards.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the Highway Enforcement Against Traffic unit and its captain
Tom Israel and invite its members to appear before the House at a date and time
to be determined by the Speaker of the House.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Clayton
County Police Chief Darrell Partain.
