RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the Eagle Ranch Children's Home and its founder, Mr. Eddie Staub,
on the occasion of the home's 20th anniversary; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
in 1985 in Chestnut Mountain, Georgia, the Eagle Ranch Children's Home was
founded on the vision, faith, and untiring dedication of Mr. Eddie Staub;
and
WHEREAS,
Eagle Ranch provides a caring home to 54 children, 42 boys and 12 girls, in
crisis and, by partnering with families, offers counseling and guidance with the
ultimate goal of reunification; and
WHEREAS,
this beautiful, 260-acre refuge has successfully guided approximately 500
children to a new and better life, and through its Wings Initiative program, is
helping others to establish similar facilities around the country and the globe;
and
WHEREAS,
under Mr. Staub's responsible and effective leadership, Eagle Ranch is run
almost entirely on private donations and has consistently remained debt-free;
and
WHEREAS,
children are referred to the ranch by individuals, community organizations, the
Department of Family and Children Services, and the Department of Juvenile
Justice; and
WHEREAS,
Eagle Ranch provides an inestimable service to children and families in crisis
in the State of Georgia, and it is highly fitting and proper that this body
recognize the outstanding contributions of its founder, staff, and numerous
supporters on the occasion of its 20th anniversary.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join together to recognize and commend Mr. Eddie Staub and the
invaluable work of the Eagle Ranch Children's Home and extend their sincere best
wishes for its continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Eddie Staub, Executive Director, Eagle Ranch.
