RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Candler Woods for his outstanding athletic performance; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Candler Woods is a senior on the Union Grove High School Wrestling team;
and
WHEREAS,
after winning two state titles at the Class AA level as a sophomore and junior,
this extremely talented young man has secured his third state crown as the 2004
traditional Class AAAAA State Wrestling Champion in the highly contested
152-pound division to finish the season with a 61-3 record and 216-21 career
mark; and
WHEREAS,
he is the first wrestler from a Henry County school to win three state
championships; and
WHEREAS,
his accomplishments are the result of many seasons of hard work, exemplary
sportsmanship, and exceptional dedication to his sport and his team;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Woods has set a laudable example for young athletes throughout Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
the Henry County community and the State of Georgia take great pride in the
achievements of this fine young champion.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in recognizing and commending this outstanding young athlete and
three-time wrestling state champion, Mr. Candler Woods.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Candler
Woods.
