A
RESOLUTION
Commending
and congratulating Ms. Gail Horne on her outstanding career with the State of
Georgia; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Gail Horne began her career in state government personnel in 1972 as a
Typist III and quickly advanced to administrative aide and then fiscal analyst;
and
WHEREAS,
over the course of her career, she has contributed her expertise to the budget
offices of the Division of Public Health and the Department of Human Resources,
the Clayton County Health Department, the Department of Administrative Services
(DOAS), the Department of Public Safety, and the Department of Technical and
Adult Education (DTAE); and
WHEREAS,
during her time with the DOAS, she demonstrated her exceptional abilities
working as a project consultant over the state CAMS vehicle system, developing a
state-wide purchasing system, and leading the development of the budget module
and supervised the trainers for the implementation of the PeopleSoft System
under DOAS and the Georgia Technology Authority; and
WHEREAS,
in 2002, she transferred to DTAE where she has served as budget director of
institutional support and then director of the entire DTAE budget office;
and
WHEREAS,
she has displayed great energy and intelligence throughout her career and is
highly esteemed by her colleagues for her commitment and her expertise;
and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia is honored to have such a fine lady as one of its citizens.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend and congratulate Ms. Gail Horne for over three decades of
dedicated service to the State of Georgia and extend their best wishes on the
occasion of her retirement.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Gail
Horne.
