A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Beverly Padgett, winner of the 2004 Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Instruction, and inviting her to appear before the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Beverly Padgett has been selected as the statés recipient of the 2004 Rick Perkins Award for Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Padgett, a Director and Lead Instructor of the Certified Customer Service Specialist program at Coosa Valley Technical College, has exemplified excellence in instructional knowledge and practices; and

WHEREAS, in recognition of such, Ms. Padgett was selected from an elite group of technical education instructors who have each demonstrated exceptional and innovative teaching practices and leadership skills at their respective colleges; and

WHEREAS, through dedication and professionalism, Ms. Padgett has brought honor to herself, her family, her college, and the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education, which she represents as Georgiás outstanding postsecondary technical instructor for 2004; and

WHEREAS, as the 2004 Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Instruction recipient, she is a spokesperson for technical education and makes public appearances to promote Georgiás Technical College System.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate Beverly Padgett for her outstanding achievements and convey to her their sincere best wishes for success in her future endeavors and invite her to appear before this body on a date and time designated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Beverly Padgett.
