RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending John William "Johnny" Pritchett for his many years of outstanding
public service; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. John William Pritchett, a lifetime resident of Oconee County, has been a
dedicated public servant and leader within his community, serving for many
distinguished years on the Oconee County Board of Commissioners;
and
WHEREAS,
in his dedication to his community, he has also served as the Athens-Clarke
County Fire Marshal and has held leadership positions in several fire service
organizations of which he is an esteemed member; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Pritchett has employed his expertise to work with numerous county and state
boards to help protect the citizens of Georgia and improve the quality of life
within his community; and
WHEREAS,
in the course of his career, he has always adhered to the highest standards of
conduct and has displayed great energy, intelligence, ability, and dedication,
and is one of Georgia's most distinguished citizens and public servants;
and
WHEREAS,
on January 1, 2005, Mr. Pritchett continues his exemplary record of service,
beginning his term as Mayor of the Town of Bishop, Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in recognizing and commending Mr. John William "Johnny" Pritchett
for his contributions to his community and his state and extend their sincere
congratulations on his election as Mayor of the Town of Bishop,
Georgia.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. John
William "Johnny" Pritchett.
