A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending William E. "Bubber" Wilkes for his many years of outstanding
public service; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Commissioner William E. Wilkes has been a successful and accomplished farmer
since 1973, selected as the 1982 Outstanding Young Farmer in Georgia by the
Georgia Jaycees and helping to organize the Oconee Young Farmers Association,
serving as its President from 1983 to 1984; and
WHEREAS,
Commissioner Wilkes has been a dedicated and devoted husband and father to his
family, which was selected as the Oconee Farm Bureau Farm Family of the Year in
1983; and
WHEREAS,
in his dedication to his community and its citizens, Commissioner Wilkes has
served for 20 exemplary years on the Oconee County Board of Commissioners, an
accomplishment that merits the highest commendation; and
WHEREAS,
in the course of his career, Commissioner Wilkes has always adhered to the
highest standards of conduct and has displayed great energy, intelligence, and
ability, and he is one of Georgia's most distinguished citizens and public
servants.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in recognizing and commending Commissioner William E. "Bubber"
Wilkes for his many years of esteemed service to the community of Oconee County
and the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Commissioner
William E. "Bubber" Wilkes.
