A RESOLUTION

Commending Ashley L. Foster; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Ashley L. Foster has long been recognized by the citizens of Augusta for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced dramatically by her work in promoting stroke awareness as well as her research in stroke treatment; by her service at the Child Neurology Center in Evans, the Augusta Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the Augusta Childreńs Medical Center, the Medical College of Georgia, the Walton Rehabilitation Center, and St. Marýs Hospital in Athens; and by her volunteer efforts on behalf of Samaritańs Purse, Childreńs Miracle Network, Alzheimeŕs Memory Walk, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation; and

WHEREAS, her talents and abilities have been recognized through her crowning as Miss Augusta 2005, her designation as one of Augustás "Best and Brightest," and the awarding to her of the Rotary Club Scholarship, the Watson Brown Scholarship, the Martinez Merchants Scholarship, and the Jabez-Sanford Scholarship; and

WHEREAS, her significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable patience and diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of her community have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and

WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and, by the examples she has made of her life, she makes this world a better place in which to live; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Ashley L. Foster for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service and extend to her their most sincere best wishes for continued success, health, and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ashley L. Foster.
