A RESOLUTION

Recognizing the Milton High School Varsity Baseball Team, winners of the 2004 Georgia Class AAAAA State High School Championship, and inviting the team to appear before the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, on June 4, 2004, to the cheers of a home crowd at Milton Park, the Milton High School Varsity Baseball Team clinched the 2004 Georgia Class AAAAA State High School Championship to finish the season with an outstanding record of 29 wins and 7 losses; and

WHEREAS, the 2004 Milton Eagles swept the state playoffs and were the first team to capture the state baseball championship for Milton High School since the 1955 team finished its famed season; and

WHEREAS, these victories were the culmination of a season of hard work, exemplary sportsmanship, and exceptional teamwork among this fine group of outstanding young men, including Troy Norton, Jordan Robinson, Matt Snider, Mike Ritchie, Curtis Clark, Mitchell Sutter, Russell Harben, Wes Gillum, Brandon Self, Eddie Prasch, Brandon Henderson, Matt Hemmingway, Tyler Craig, Charlie Strohecker, Gavin McGinnis, Greg O'Sullivan, B.J. Kendall, Spencer Goruk, Nicholas Hill, Dexter Fowler, Trey Sheffield, Jason Pociask, Michael Jeschke, David Fallis, Daniel French, and Paul Tew; and

WHEREAS, these achievements attest that the members of the Milton High School Varsity Baseball team possess exceptional talent and dedication to their team and their sport; and

WHEREAS, the Alpharetta community and the State of Georgia take great pride in the accomplishments of these fine young champions.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend the 2004 Georgia Class AAAAA State Champion Milton High School Varsity Baseball Team and Coaches Greg Robinson and Chuck Crawford for their outstanding performance.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the team is invited to the House of Representatives for purposes of being recognized by the House and receiving an appropriate copy of this resolution at a date and time to be fixed by the Speaker of the House.
