A
RESOLUTION
Expressing
regret at the passing of Noel Hayes "Hob" Hobgood, Jr., and Mary Bob Acree
Hobgood; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia lost two of its finest and most distinguished citizens with
the passing of Noel Hayes "Hob" Hobgood, Jr., on December 29, 2004, and Mary Bob
Acree Hobgood on January 7, 2005; and
WHEREAS,
they were long recognized by the citizens of Toccoa and Stephens County for the
vital role that they played in leadership and their deep personal commitment to
the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
they were one of the most renowned couples in their community and were actively
involved in the economic, social, civic, and religious life of their community;
and
WHEREAS,
they stood as a proud and shining example of enduring love and affection, and
the devotion, patience, and understanding that they demonstrated provided the
foundation and framework of success in which all of their family members have
developed and flourished; and
WHEREAS,
their significant organizational and leadership talents, their remarkable
patience and diplomacy, their keen sense of vision, and their sensitivity to the
needs of the citizens of their community earned them the respect and admiration
of their colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS,
they were persons of magnanimous strengths with unimpeachable reputations for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
the untimely passing of this generous, kind, and devoted couple leaves an
unfillable void in the hearts and lives of their family and
friends.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the members of this body express their deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of Noel Hayes "Hob" Hobgood, Jr., and Mary Bob Acree Hobgood and commend them for a lifetime of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the members of this body express their deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of Noel Hayes "Hob" Hobgood, Jr., and Mary Bob Acree Hobgood and commend them for a lifetime of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Noel Hayes "Hob" Hobgood, Jr., and Mary Bob Acree Hobgood.
