House Resolution 628

A RESOLUTION

Commending Randy L. Clements; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Randy L. Clements has served the State of Georgia for many years as a zealous and untiring advocate for economic development in Georgia in both the private and public sectors; and

WHEREAS, he has worked as a manager of community development with the Georgia Power Company, served as a local elected official, and labored as a governmental affairs representative for cities; and

WHEREAS, he brought vision and leadership while a member of the city council, the Downtown Development Authority, and the Industrial Development Authority for the City of Pearson; and

WHEREAS, he has used his skills as a certified economic developer and graduate of both the Leadership Institute for Municipal Elected Officials and the Association County Commissioners of Georgia Academy for Leadership to assist local officials in taking steps to improve the quality of life in their communities; and

WHEREAS, he has walked the marble halls of the state capitol for many years as an employee of the Georgia Municipal Association, tasting both the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat; and

WHEREAS, his patience, kindness, and diplomacy as well as his sensitivities have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and

WHEREAS, he is a man of excellent judgment and fine discernment, being the owner of the coolest 'Vette on Pryor Street; and

WHEREAS, he is a person with an unimpeachable reputation for honesty, regarded by his peers as a consummate gentleman with a sense a humor, and he will be sorely missed by his coworkers and friends at the capitol; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that before he retires from the Georgia Municipal Association to become an international man of leisure that the accomplishments of this generous and sincere individual be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Randy L. Clements for his many years of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated service and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Randy L. Clements.
