A
RESOLUTION
Commending
Romeo Adams for his outstanding public service on the occasion of his
retirement; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Romeo Adams has served on the Ty Cobb Healthcare System Board of Directors
since January 1, 1979, and has served as its chairman since 2000;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Adams was instrumental in developing the original 71 bed hospital into a
comprehensive rural health care system consisting of three hospitals, three
nursing homes, assisted living services, outpatient centers, and numerous
specialty services, which provides quality care to more than 100,000 citizens in
Northeast Georgia and employs over 1,250 health care professionals;
and
WHEREAS,
under his sound leadership, Ty Cobb Healthcare System has greatly increased the
community's access to quality health care services, many of which are not
typically available in a rural setting; and
WHEREAS,
as a successful businessman and community leader, Mr. Adams has had a
significant impact on the development of the City of Royston and Franklin
County, initiating the establishment of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce
and helping to attract key industries and jobs to the community;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Adams is a devoted family man, and he and his wife Virginia have two
wonderful children, Julian and Andrea; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Adams has exhibited the highest qualities of public service and has greatly
contributed to the quality of life enjoyed by the residents of Northeast
Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in commending Mr. Romeo Adams for his many years of exemplary
public service and extend their sincere best wishes to Mr. Adams on the occasion
of his retirement.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Romeo Adams.
