RESOLUTION
Commending
the Trion High School Debate Team; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Trion High School Debate Team has enjoyed a highly successful and memorable
season; and
WHEREAS,
the team captured the 2004 Georgia High School Association Class A State
Championship, winning its third state title since 2001; and
WHEREAS,
their accomplishments have been the culmination of much commitment and hard work
by the bright and talented members of this superb team, including Dustin
Pledger, Damien Brooks, Dustin Cochran, Lee Kaylor, Mary Alexander Myers,
Madeline Myers, Cameron Day, Season Helms, and Cameron Kunzelman;
and
WHEREAS,
from among this select group, four students were selected for the State Team,
including Ashley Bramlett, Charis Sumner, Catherine Farrar, and Rachel Winstead;
and
WHEREAS,
the Trion community and the State of Georgia take great pride in these bright
young scholars.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in commending the Trion High School Debate Team for their
intellectual prowess and the drive and enthusiasm they have exhibited in their
pursuit of academic excellence.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to the members of
the Trion High School Debate Team.
