WHEREAS, the community immediately rallied in support of the Davis family, and a website was begun to keep supporters constantly aware of Coopeŕs condition. Two months later, Cooper returned home to continue rehabilitation, and he receives help from Speech, Hearing, and Rehabilitation Enterprises of Coastal Georgia, Inc. (SHARE), including speech, physical, and occupational therapy, and now Cooper is dependent for all mobility and daily living activities; and

WHEREAS, one month after the accident, Coopeŕs grandmother, Julie Davis, was diagnosed with Picḱs disease, which occurs in middle age and affects mainly the frontal brain, causing neurotic behavior, and slow changes in personality, emotions, and abilities such as reasoning and judgment. Julie participates daily in SHARÉs program, but with ever decreasing abilities as the terrible disease takes its toll; and

WHEREAS, two years after Cooper’s accident, in October 2003, a baby sister, Gracie, was born with an unknown chromosome variation, previously unrecognized by the medical community. Though their struggles have been great, this familýs faith has not waivered, and they have been an inspiration to all who continue to admire and respect them.
