A RESOLUTION

Celebrating the Lowndes High School Football Team, winners of the AAAAA State Championship; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the 2004 Lowndes High School Football Team has undertaken the challenge to strengthen their bodies, minds, and spirits and to build character through competition; and

WHEREAS, this is one of the pathways of becoming bright, well-rounded, productive students and adults; and

WHEREAS, the 2004 Lowndes High School Football Team has played with skill, excellence, and courage, ultimately achieving the status of greatness; and

WHEREAS, the team has distinguished themselves for their teamwork, leadership, pride, sportsmanship, and exceptional ability; and

WHEREAS, the 2004 Lowndes High School Football Team scored 560 points during the season for an average of 37.3 points per game with a margin of victory of 30.6 points per game; and

WHEREAS, the 2004 Lowndes High School Football Team had six shutouts and only allowed 100 points during the season for an average of 6.6 points per game; and

WHEREAS, the 2004 Lowndes High School Football Team never trailed in a game throughout the entire season; and

WHEREAS, the 2004 Lowndes High School Football Team has excelled and completed a grueling season with a 15-0 record culminating with the AAAAA State Championship on Saturday, December 4, 2004, at Parkview High School, Stone Mountain, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, the Lowndes County School System and Lowndes County community appreciate and acknowledge the extreme dedication of Coach Randy McPherson, all assistant coaches, players, support personnel, cheerleaders, band, and any and all others who assisted or encouraged this team in any way.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body celebrate the skills, spirit, and success of the 2004 Lowndes High School Football Team.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Lowndes High School Head Football Coach Randy McPherson.
