RESOLUTION
Commending
the Duluth Middle School Academic Bowl Team; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
as a Semi-finals Winner in the PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades Competition,
the Duluth Middle School Academic Bowl Team is one of only four teams which will
compete in the PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades State Finals on February 7,
2005; and
WHEREAS,
the members of this multitalented team are required to spend a substantial
amount of after school hours in practice competition and are selected because of
their superior academic standing and their ability to demonstrate their
comprehension and mastery of numerous subjects under pressure; and
WHEREAS,
under the expert and unwavering guidance of their coaches, the members of this
young team have developed and refined the mental agility, verbal dexterity, and
intellectual acumen that are necessary for continued excellence in academic
competition; and
WHEREAS,
the Gwinnett County community and the State of Georgia take great pride in the
dedication and enthusiasm of these promising young scholars.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
the members of the Duluth Middle School Academic Bowl Team for their outstanding
pursuit and attainment of academic excellence and extend their sincerest best
wishes for the team's continued success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Kay Harvey, Principal
of Duluth Middle School.
