RESOLUTION
Congratulating
J. D. Davis Elementary School, Columbus, Georgia, as a recipient of a
Weyerhaeuser "Excellence in Recycling" Award; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation has granted more than $85,000.00 to Georgia
schools for their commitment to recycling, and these recycling programs help
students understand more about recycling and reusing; and
WHEREAS,
the Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation is presenting $15,000.00 to Georgia schools
for "Excellence in Recycling" Awards, and one of these schools is J. D. Davis
Elementary School, Columbus, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
under the leadership of Principal Pauline Talley, J. D. Davis Elementary has
earned this prestigious award; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the dedication and commitment of this
outstanding school be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE the members of this body congratulate J.
D. Davis Elementary School, Columbus, Georgia, on the occasion of its being
named winner of a Weyerhaeuser "Excellence in Recycling" Award, and extend to it
their best wishes for continued success in the future.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Pauline Terry, Principal
of J. D. Davis Elementary School.
