A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Leadership Franklin; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Leadership Franklin is an innovative program that introduces accomplished and
promising leaders in Franklin County to their government and social servants;
and
WHEREAS,
in this program, 22 participants from all walks of life, including six high
school students, learn about the "Who, What, Where, and How" of Franklin County;
and
WHEREAS,
participants learn to work as a team and develop a greater awareness of their
own personality strengths through such activities as shadowing a public official
for the day and completing a modified ropes course; and
WHEREAS,
the formal and informal exchange of ideas between the diverse participants in
Leadership Franklin provides fresh insight, broadened perspective, and renewed
motivation; and
WHEREAS,
the Leadership Franklin program was developed by the Fanning Institute for
Leadership and Community Development at the University of Georgia and is
sponsored by the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS,
through its rigorous and rousing educational program, Leadership Franklin is
helping to identify and shape the future leaders of Georgia and Franklin
County.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
recognizing and commending Leadership Franklin for its outstanding contributions
to the Franklin County community and the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Franklin County
Chamber of Commerce.
