Senate Resolution 133

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Matthew Williams; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the National 4-H Conference is designated as the premier assembly of 4-H members from throughout the nation to assist Cooperative Extension Service staff in program planning; and

WHEREAS, 4-H members serving as delegates provide specific recommendations for 4-H and Cooperative Extension Service programs at the county, state, and national levels; and

WHEREAS, delegates make a valuable contribution to the development of programs which redirect the path of 4-H to meet the needs of youth and our society; and

WHEREAS, the National 4-H Conference is conducted by the 4-H Youth Development Program of the Extension Service of the United States Department of Agriculture, the National 4-H Council, and the Extension Services of the land grant universities; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Williams of Crawford County served with distinction, dedication, and ability as a delegate to the 2004 National 4-H Conference and is an outstanding representative of the 4-H members of Georgia.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Matthew Williams for the outstanding manner in which this 4-H member represented the State of Georgia as a delegate to the 2004 National 4-H Conference.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Matthew Williams.
