A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Laura Stone; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the National 4_H Conference is conducted by the 4_H Youth Development Program of the Extension Service of the United States Department of Agriculture, the National 4_H Council, and the Extension Services of the land grant universities; and

WHEREAS, 4-H members attending the National 4-H Conference make a valuable contribution to the development of programs which redirect the path of 4_H to meet the needs of youth and our society; and

WHEREAS, Laura Stone is a member of the Georgia Youth Technology Leadership Team and Clovers & Company and has served as a member of the planning team for the Georgia Youth Summit; and

WHEREAS, Laura's responsibilities have included working with the National 4-H Technology Conference in Chevy Chase, Maryland; working with and creating resources to support state 4-H Tech Teams; working with GIS, GPS, and Robotics to develop 4-H project areas; and designing data base systems to help manage parts of 4-h.org; and

WHEREAS, Laura Stone of Burke County served with distinction, dedication, and ability as a member of the National 4-H Technology Leadership Team at the 2004 National 4_H Conference.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Laura Stone for the outstanding manner in which she represented the State of Georgia as a member of the National 4-H Technology Leadership Team at the 2004 National 4_H Conference.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Laura Stone.
