A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Heather Savelle; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, 4-H Clubs of Georgia provide a unique educational opportunity for students from nine to 19 years of age to learn valuable lessons outside the classroom and offer some 55 project areas in which students can develop expertise and compete with one another; and

WHEREAS, Georgia´s 4-H programs are coordinated by the Cooperative Extension Service of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and this service is the major university outreach program focusing on the youth of this state; and

WHEREAS, Heather Savelle of Oconee County is an outstanding member of 4-H and is the recipient of the prestigious Dean´s Award; and

WHEREAS, this accomplishment signifies that Heather Savelle has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and communications skills and outstanding character and citizenship; and

WHEREAS, Heather Savelle is an excellent representative of the dynamic resource this state has in its young people.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Heather Savelle as the recipient of the prestigious Dean´s Award and for this outstanding 4-H member´s dedication to the principles of 4-H programs.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Heather Savelle.
