RESOLUTION
Remembering
and honoring the life of Mrs. Gwen Rogers Hamm; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Georgia lost one of its most beloved citizens on March 13, 2006, with the
passing of Mrs. Gwen Rogers Hamm of Marietta, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
she was born on March 4, 1951, in Florida, and graduated from Okaloosa-Walton
Junior College; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Hamm spent many years as a homemaker dedicated to raising her children; and
once they reached high school, she opened her own business, Baubles, Bags and
More; and
WHEREAS,
a resident of Marietta for over 30 years, Mrs. Hamm was a member of the Cobb
County Business Association and attended Johnson Ferry Baptist Church;
and
WHEREAS,
her loving family describe her as the glue that held them together, organizing
an annual family fishing trip and reunion; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Hamm is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Bill Hamm, and her two
sons, Andrew Scott Hamm and William Tyler Hamm; and
WHEREAS,
the death of Mrs. Hamm has left an unfillable void in the hearts of all who knew
and loved this exceptional lady, and she will always be remembered with the
greatest affection for her compassion, generosity, and sweet and loving
spirit.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
remembering and honoring the life of Mrs. Gwen Rogers Hamm and extend their most
sincere condolences to her family and friends.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Bill Hamm.
